Come to The Good Room for a chat!
Each Debate/Discussion is themed around an exhibition, event, film or book . Always topical and multi-faceted, come in and hear from those in the know - researchers, practitioners, people with the experience to share personal and professional perspective in an environment that is both evaluative and constructive. It's also a great chance to meet new peers and friends, to network a little and to get to know your community better. We ask you to share your perspective and to hear new ones. Everyone is very welcome. So, have a glass of wine or a cup of tea, chew on a fantale and have a chat!
NOTE: We do not set up patsies, we do not allow bigotry and unsubstantiated ranting - we do invite thinking caps and lots of participation.
Each Debate/Discussion session is recorded and available for viewing and critique to the public. Please contact us for further information. We eventually hope to develop an archive of social thought - so we see these evenings as both social and history... If you have an idea for a Debate/Discussion or you would like to register as a potential panelist, please also send us an email.
Our first Debate/Discussion draws on themes explored by our inaugural exhibition, Leslie Morgan’s Anglo-Indians Sail into White Australia, 1947.
