Writers & Documenters Group
Do you need help scanning and organizing your important documents, family photos and other precious objects? Have you been writing your family or local history, recipe book or memoir but can't seem to be motivated doing it alone? Want to know more about compiling oral histories? Are you interested in starting your project but don't know where to start?
Meet people with a similar interest in family history, browse through our inspiration library of memoirs and family projects while the team at the Foundling Archive is on hand to help you scan and archive, edit and write. We'll share interviewing tips, discuss your project and provide feedback. Equipment loans will be available to members. Bring a box or two of your personal archive for scanning and conservation, your laptop (we have two computers that can be used if you don't have access to one), or journal and let's start together!
1st and 3rd Thursday and Saturday of every month 11-2pm
Once a month we invite special guests including local historians, archivists and relevant local businesses to help keep you motivated, inspired and informed of the available resources.
Members will also receive discounts on all workshops hosted at The Good Room and on all archive material available for purchase through our shop. Members are encouraged to exhibit or launch their projects at The Good Room, Brunswick East.
